How to wear a silk bandana
Thanks to its thermoregulatory properties (insulating from the cold, breathable when it's hot), a silk bandana can be worn in summer and winter alike. Discover how to wear our silk bandanas in a variety of ways:
The small bandana is ideal for personalizing your handbag by tying a bow around your handle. You can also use it as a scarf to protect you from the sun in summer, or tie it around your ponytail. More generally, it can be used as a scarf around the neck to personalize your outfit or keep you warm.
For the large bandana, as for the small one, there are many different options. It can be used in a variety of ways, depending on the style you want to create: on a bag, in the hair, around the neck, or as a belt to add the latest fashion touch to your look.
However you wear it, the silk bandana is the ideal accessory for any season. Easy to wear, it adapts to every style and body type, and can be worn by both men and women! You can also combine it with our jackets, shirts, kimonos, shorts and tote bags for a total look. Easy to combine and wear, the bandana is also the ideal gift for every occasion, all year round!
How do I care for my silk bandana?
Whatever the size or color, care is the same! As a natural and delicate material, silk requires special care. To get the best results and keep your silk bandana intact, follow our advice.
Choosing the right detergent
To maintain the quality of your bandana, it's important to use the right products! Avoid washing powder, which may contain bleaching agents, and choose a detergent specially formulated for delicate fabrics (silk and cashmere). Its formula protects the fibers during hand or machine washing.
Washing and spinning
Silk doesn't like hot water. Machine-washed silk scarves risk shrinking and losing their shine, so to keep your 100% silk bandanas intact, prefer hand-washing without rubbing. To wring out your silk bandana, avoid twisting the fabric. The solution: lay your scarf flat between two terry towels to dab it, then lay it flat. Finally, don't dry your scarf near a radiator or in direct sunlight.
Ironing
To iron silk easily, the fabric must be slightly damp. If your silk bandana is completely dry, you can use a spray bottle of water to moisten the entire fabric.
Then lay your bandana on its reverse side flat on the ironing board and place a cloth or towel over it to protect it from the heat of the iron.
Switch on your iron and select the lowest or silk setting, then iron your bandana.
If you don't have time for all these steps, you can opt for dry-cleaning! One last tip to avoid a bad experience: never spray perfume on silk.
